This policy explains how Appcraft Builders Sdn Bhd ("Appcraft", "we", "us") handles personal data collected through appcraft.my and in the course of providing renovation and fit-out services. We process personal data in accordance with the Personal Data Protection Act 2010 (PDPA) of Malaysia.
1. Data we collect
When you submit our enquiry form, call us, or message us, we may collect your name, email address, phone number, property address or location, and the description of your project. If you become a client, we additionally collect billing details, correspondence, site photographs and documents required for permits and approvals.
Our website itself collects limited technical data (such as browser type and pages visited) through cookies described in our Cookie Policy.
2. Why we collect it
- To respond to enquiries and prepare quotations you have requested
- To perform our contract with you: scheduling, permits, progress updates and warranty service
- To meet legal obligations, including tax, accounting and construction-industry requirements
- To maintain records of completed projects for warranty administration
- With your separate consent, to show anonymised project photographs in our portfolio
3. What we never do
We do not sell, rent or trade your personal data. We do not send marketing messages unless you have asked for them, and any such message will include a working way to opt out.
4. Sharing with third parties
Your data is shared only where the project requires it: with building management bodies and local authorities for permit applications, with our insurers for works coverage, with suppliers delivering to your address, and with professional advisers (such as engineers) engaged on your project. Each receives only the data necessary for their role.
5. Retention
Enquiry data that does not lead to a project is deleted within 24 months. Client project records are kept for seven years after project completion to satisfy warranty, tax and legal requirements, after which they are securely destroyed.
6. Security
Personal data is stored on access-controlled systems available only to staff who need it for their work. Paper documents are kept at our registered office and shredded at end of retention.
7. Your rights
Under the PDPA you may request access to the personal data we hold about you, ask for corrections, or withdraw consent to processing that is based on consent. 8. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, the revised version will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. Material changes affecting existing clients will be notified by email.
